(Albany, NY) Senator Dale M. Volker (R-I-C, Depew) today announced that he has secured $15,000 for the Northern Livingston County Chapter of the American Red Cross within the adopted 2005-2006 New York State Budget. This funding will assist the Northern Livingston County Chapter of the American Red Cross with their efforts to purchase a new vehicle to support their Motor Corps program.

"The Northern Livingston County Chapter of the American Red Cross has provided thousands of people with assistance over the years," said Senator Dale M. Volker. "Blood donations, disaster services, health and safety services, and youth services are some of their more public functions. However, they also provide transportation to those individuals who need to see their health care providers and who are unable to drive themselves due to their own health limitations and physical challenges. This service is vital to the residents it serves and why I am pleased to have been helpful in securing $15,000 to purchase a second vehicle to expand this program."

Bradley Lowell, Chapter Chair of the Northern Livingston County Chapter of the American red Cross said, "We often forget that everyone does not have the ability to drive to access health care services. Our motor corps program provides transportation for doctor and dental appointments, hospital treatment, and other humanitarian needs for those Northern Livingston County residents who cannot drive and/or do not have transportation are in need of medical care. We are grateful that Senator Volker has been able to secure $15,000 to expand our motor corps operation as the need for these services continue to grow."
