" It has always been a priority of mine to secure state funds that complement the efforts of our local governments, whenever possible, for the residents we serve. This is a perfect example of state and local cooperation and I would like to thank the efforts of the Town and Village of Arcade for making this renovation project a reality. I am pleased to have secured these funds and look forward to seeing this project come to fruition."

A.D. Berwanger, Supervisor of the Town of Arcade and Chairman of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors, said, "Senator Volker has always been willing to listen and act to assist local governments to improve many of their community facilities. These state funds will allow our residents to continue to utilize the "Cabin in the Park", which is used throughout the year by our residents, our businesses, senior citizen organizations, and many of our entertainment venues supported by the Town and Village of Arcade."

The $18,000 in state funds secured by Senator Dale M. Volker will be utilized to update the kitchen, installation of new flooring, new cabinets, and for the walls to be insulated and painted. The "Cabin in the Park" is currently used for the meal site twice a week, Arcade Seniors’ meetings and card parties, Merchant’s meetings, and countless family reunions and parties throughout the year. It is also part of the Town and Village of Arcade’s Winterfest Weekend, Civil War Weekend and the Fabulous Fifties Weekend.
