Senator Dale M. Volker Secures $40,000 For Bristol Volunteer Fire Department

(Albany, NY) Senator Dale M. Volker (R-I-C, Depew) today announced that he has secured $40,000 for the Bristol Volunteer Fire Department within the adopted 2005-2006 New York State Budget. This funding will assist the Bristol Volunteer Fire Department with their efforts to expand their emergency parking area for their members and for fundraising activities.

"Our volunteer fire and emergency personnel are on the front lines in protecting our lives and our property," said Senator Dale M. Volker. "This is very true in our more rural areas of the state and why I will continue to do all that I can to be of assistance to our rural fire and emergency personnel. By securing this funding for the Bristol Volunteer Fire Department, it will provide the necessary financial resources to allow them to pave their emergency parking area, which is currently utilized for their emergency responders and for their fundraising activities."

Mark Francese. Chairman of the Bristol Volunteer Fire Company’s Building Committee said, "This is tremendous news for our fire department and the communities that we serve. Currently, our emergency responders must park their vehicles on a small gravel area that often becomes extremely muddy during periods of inclement weather. Senator Volker securing $40,000 will allow us to move forward with paving this gravel area so that our emergency responders have a reasonable place to park their vehicles, and will continue to allow us to have fundraising events so that our volunteer fire company will remain financially viable."
