Senator Dale M. Volker (R-C-I, Depew) today announced that he has secured $5,000 for the Arcade Little League for the purchase of baseball equipment for all 13 little league teams. Senator Volker secured these state funds as part of the adopted 2005-2006 State Budget.

"As a father, and now a proud grandfather, I know how sports can play a positive role in a child’s development," said Senator Volker. "Organized sports, often instills in our children good sportsmanship, coping skills, playing and working within a team environment and keeping healthy habits that last a lifetime. It is about improving one’s ability, never giving up under adversity, and understanding concepts and techniques. I commend all of those involved in the Arcade Little League for their commitment to our children, and I am pleased to have secured these state funds in order to provide new equipment for the league."

A.D. Berwanger, Chairman of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors and Supervisor of the Town of Arcade said, "We all take great pride in our community in providing our children with outlets to have good clean fun with their peers. The need for updated equipment is always there due to the constant wear and tear that is inherent in the sport. Representatives from the Arcade Little League and myself called Senator Volker requesting financial assistance for the league and he, without hesitation, said absolutely. I would like to thank Senator Volker for his generosity in advocating for these state funds for the Arcade Little League."

The $5,000 secured by Senator Volker will be utilized for the following baseball equipment for the 13 little league teams that comprise the Arcade Little League:
