Senator Dale Volker Secures $100,000 For Happiness House/finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy

Senator Dale Volker has announced that he has secured $100,000 in state funding for Happiness House to assist them in continuing their mission in providing the highest quality programs and services to children and adults with disabilities, to their families and to the Finger Lakes community.

"Happiness House has a proven record in delivering high quality services to those children and adults who face physical and medical challenges in their lives," said Senator Dale M. Volker. "I have always been acutely aware that programs for these individuals can make an enormous positive impact in their lives. I have seen the positive results of these programs and initiatives firsthand, as one of my close family member's is challenged and receives programmatic assistance. It has made a wonderful impact in his life. Our community, our family members and our loved ones who face similar difficulties deserve to have the ability to improve their lives and remain assets to our society. I would like to thank the professional staff of Happiness House for their continued commitment in improving the lives of our residents."

The $100,000 in state funding secured by Senator Volker will assist Happiness House as the proceed with their capital project, which includes the new construction of a 20,000 square foot preschool and traumatic brain injury program at their Canandaigua site. The new building in Canandaigua would have two distinct sections separating the children’s and adult programs.

Happiness House is a nonprofit health and human service agency that has been serving communities in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York since 1969. Their staff consists of dedicated and knowledgeable professionals and clinicians in the areas of special education, early childhood education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, music therapy, psychology, service coordination and nursing.
