Senator Fuschillo Kicks Off 9th Annual Toy Drive To Benefit Children In Winthrop Hospital

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) today kicked off his ninth annual "Extend the Holidays" toy drive to benefit children in the pediatric ward of Winthrop University Hospital. New unwrapped toys can be delivered to Senator Fuschillo’s district office at 30 South Ocean Avenue in Freeport. The age range for donated toys is infants to early teen.

Now entering its ninth year, Senator Fuschillo's "Extend the Holidays" toy drive is a unique holiday tradition that brings smiles to the faces of children in the hospital. The toys are delivered after the holiday season so that the kids can enjoy a little extra seasonal cheer.

"Each year, with the help of local residents and community organizations, the toys collected through the ‘Extend the Holidays’ program bring smiles to the faces of children who need a little extra care," said Senator Fuschillo. "Through continued generosity, we can again spread cheer to these kids throughout the year."
