Senator Fuschillo Reads House Mouse, Senate Mouse To Birch Elementary School Kindergarten Class

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District), recently paid a visit to some of his younger constituents, students from Ms. Jean’s kindergarten class at Birch Elementary School. Senator Fuschillo visited with the children as part of the school’s "Community Read-In Day".

Senator Fuschillo read House Mouse, Senate Mouse by Peter and Cheryl Barnes to the class. The story allowed the children to learn, in a fun way, about how a bill becomes a law and what Senator Fuschillo’s job is as a New York State Senator.

"As a parent of three children, I know how important it is to encourage kids to read at an early age, because it will definitely benefit them throughout their lives. This program is a great way to reinforce that message," said Senator Fuschillo. "I really enjoyed reading to the class and watching how much fun they had listening the story."
