Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Senator Dean G. Skelos (9th Senate District) recently visited students at Baldwin Middle School to talk about government.

Senators Fuschillo and Skelos explained to the students what their responsibilities are as New York State Senators and how State Government works. They also took students through the process of how a bill becomes a law.

Afterwards, the students had the opportunity to ask questions of the two Senators and offer their ideas for new state laws.

"It is important for young students to understand how their government operates, and visiting these school is a great way for us to provide them with first hand insight of how laws are passed and why it is important for them to participate in the process," said Senator Fuschillo, a member of the Senate’s Education Committee. "I really enjoyed my visit to Baldwin."
