Senator Dale M. Volker Secures $15,000 For The East Aurora Boys & Girls Club

(Albany, NY) Senator Dale M. Volker (R-I-C, Depew) today announced that he has secured $15,000 to support the East Aurora Boys & Girls Club so as to address certain facility upgrades and ensure that the operational needs of this organization remain viable. This $15,000 state grant was secured as part of the adopted 2006-2007 state budget.

"Year after year, the East Aurora Boys & Girls Club remains a positive and steadfast resource for our young people in our community to reach their goals and dreams," said Senator Dale M. Volker. "I try to do my level best to be helpful in securing state funds in order to ensure that our young people have the resources available to them to become strong and productive citizens of our state." Senator Volker also stated, "Providing a safe place to learn and to grow through ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals and life-enhancing programs and character development fosters hope and opportunity. This is what the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora embodies and why I will continue to be helpful in anyway I can."

"Senator Volker and I firmly support their mission and their focus on promoting and enhancing the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. It is a mission that we all should promote is our daily lives and I appreciate Senator Volker’s advocacy in Albany in securing these state funds."

Gary Schutrum, Chief Professional Officer of the East Aurora Boys & Girls Club said, "Senator Volker has over the years secured financial resources to allow us to grow and enhance our facility, our programs, and our most important asset--our children. These funds will allow us to improve services to our young people and ensure that our facility remains of solid financial footing."

Terry Yarnall, Supervisor of the Town of Aurora, said, "We all have a vested interest to ensure that boys and girls of all backgrounds in our community, build confidence, develop character and acquire the skills needed to become productive, civic-minded, responsible adults. We all should share those ideals of making dreams into a reality through planning, education and hard work, and I appreciate Senator Volker for doing all that he can to be assistance to our Boys and Girls Club."

Senator Volker said that in securing this $15,000, it will allow the East Aurora Boys & Girls Club to help rehabilitate and renovate its facility.
