Senator Farley Reminds Constituents That Today Is The Anniversary Of D-day

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C - Schenectady) is asking constituents of the 44th District -- which consists of Fulton, Montgomery, Schenectady and parts of Saratoga counties -- to bow their heads in a few moments of silence onTuesday, June 6th, in honor of D-Day.

"It was on this day in 1944 that the Allied Invasion onto the Normandy beaches of France was the largest single assault in the most massive military conflict in history," Senator Farley said. "Unfortunately, over the years, some may have forgotten what that day meant. But with our military fighting overseas, we must remember the fallen who have helped keep this country free."

"Their honorable service to their country during World War II was courageous because they left their comfortable surroundings and helped to not only protect their nation, but other nations in the fight for freedom," Senator Farley said. "While you are honoring these brave people, please say a few words for our military troops who continue to fight for our freedom," Senator Farley said.
