While it was a blustery day, State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C - Schenectady) said the Home Safety Day he cosponsored with the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, June 10th, was a success.

Participants in the event included Smokey the Bear and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, GAVAC, Montgomery County Sheriff's Department, Amsterdam Police Department, MCAP, Catholic Charities, Community Health Center, Fulmont Community Action Agency's Head Start, and HFM Prevention Council. The Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department also showcased their safety trailer.

"Protecting our loved ones is the responsibility of every parent, neighbor and citizen," Senator Farley said. "That's why it is important to stay informed on fire safety and to take steps to protect yourself and your families."

The Home Safety Day was held in conjunction with the fire department's annual car and bike show. The day also included a summer cookout, raffles and prizes, a live musical performance by The Lone Peaches and more.
