Bassett’s Streck Reappointed To State Panel
William F. Streck, M.D. of Cooperstown has been confirmed by the New York State Senate to another term on the state’s Public Health Council, Senator James L. Seward announced today. Seward is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, which must consider nominations before they are acted upon by the full Senate.
Streck, of Fernleigh Drive, Cooperstown is president and chief executive officer of Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown, which provides hospital, primary and specialty physician services to the residents of central New York. He has served as Bassett’s CEO since 1985. He holds a B.S. in psychology from Oklahoma State University and an M.D. degree from the University of Missouri. He serves on the boards of Hartwick College and Pathfinder Village.
"I commend the governor for reappointing Dr. Bill Streck," Senator James L. Seward said. "His vast experience in health care, public health and health policy are serves the people of the state well in the deliberations of the Public Health Council."
The council, created by state law, advises the state health commissioner on various public health issues, including education, sanitation, communicable diseases, and safe food and water.
The term expires April 14, 2012.
