State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C - Mount Hope) announced today that he has secured $65,000 in Senate Initiative funding for several Ulster County human services organizations. The recipients are: Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Family of Woodstock, Resource Center for Accessible Living, the Girl Scouts, Planned Parenthood, and Ulster-Green ARC.

"These groups and their programs provide our communities with invaluable services," stated Senator Bonacic. "I was pleased to fight for additional State aid to support their selfless efforts."

The Family of Woodstock will receive a $30,000 grant for establishing and promoting a hotline for teens. Michael Berg, Executive Director, stated, "We are especially grateful to Senator Bonacic in making a commitment to expand the teen hotline and his vision for youth throughout Ulster County."

$10,000 will be granted to the Resource Center for Accessible Living to purchase much-needed office equipment. The Girl Scouts of Ulster County will receive $2,500 for equipment purchases. $20,000 will be granted to Ulster-Green ARC and $2,500 will be granted to Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, so both groups can purchase equipment.

Senator Bonacic said that the funding was granted based upon individual requests made by the various organizations.
