Bonacic Secures State Aid For Hospitals In Delaware County
State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C - Mount Hope) announced today that the Legislature has agreed to a health spending plan that includes $400,000 in funding for hospitals in Delaware County. Delaware Valley Hospital and Margaretville Hospital will each receive $200,000.
"Keeping our hospitals strong is something I care deeply about. Access to quality health care is a top priority and important to the people residing in Delaware County," stated Senator Bonacic.
David Polge, Chief Operating Officer of the Delaware Valley Hospital, stated, "We, here at Delaware Valley are truly appreciative of the Senator's ongoing support and commitment to this hospital. His recognition of the importance of rural health care providers is uplifting and we are grateful. We will use the funding that Senator Bonacic secured to support the ongoing needs of the emergency room department and for the operation of our wellness, community education, and health screening programs.
Chief Operating Officer of Margaretville Hospital, Joseph DiPalo, stated, "We truly appreciate Senator Bonacic's continued support and the hard work he does for our hospital and our communities. The funding the Senator secured will allow Margaretville Hospital to expand its much-needed outpatient rehabilitation services to the community and to also complete technology upgrades to the radiology and laboratory departments."
"Living in upstate New York should not mean living with lower quality health care. I will continue to do all I can to ensure the hospitals in this Senate District receive as much State aid as possible," concluded State Senator John J. Bonacic.
