Senator Flanagan Honored As Federation Of Organization's Man Of The Year
Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) was recently honored as the "Man of the Year" at the Federation of Organization’s 25th Annual Community Mental Health Awards Luncheon.
The annual event, which was held on St. Patrick's Day, recognizes the contributions of public officials and mental health advocates in support of mental health consumers and survivors. Senator Flanagan was recognized for his ongoing support of Federation's programs and services, and for his efforts in passing legislation and securing funding that benefit mental health clients.
"Senator Flanagan has been an enthusiastic backer of the programs offered by Federation of Organizations. We are very encouraged by the active role he has taken." said Ruth Del Col, Director of Development, Federation of Organizations.
"Today is a day to celebrate the personal achievements of all those individuals and families who have struggled with and overcome mental illness," said Senator Flanagan in accepting his award. "Our profound thanks to the dedication and commitment of all the advocates and case workers, who every day make such a dramatic difference in so many lives. I am honored to be in their company and humbled by this award."
