John J. Flanagan

Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) recently hosted a Town Hall meeting in Smithtown. The meeting at the Eugene Cannataro Senior Center enabled Senator Flanagan to hear directly from the people he represents.

"This meeting was a great way to communicate, share ideas and inform the public. I appreciate the input of those who attended and will remember their thoughts in the coming months," stated Senator Flanagan.

Senator Flanagan opened the meeting with some remarks about the issues he is working on in the New York State Senate. He remarked on the enhancements to Megan's Law that were enacted at the beginning of the year and the Senate's efforts to provide relief to consumers from the high price of gasoline by capping the state and local tax on motor fuel.

Senator Flanagan then opened the floor to questions from those who were in attendance. Questions ranged in topic and covered state and local issues including the future of the Kings Park Psychiatric Center.
