Senator Flanagan Hosts Town Hall Meeting In Stony Brook

John J. Flanagan

Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) recently hosted a Town Hall meeting in Stony Brook. The meeting was held at the R.C. Murphy Junior High School and enabled Senator Flanagan to listen to the ideas and feelings of the community.

"With a number of important issues facing our community, I am glad to have the opportunity to listen to and speak with our community. I thank everyone who attended the meeting and appreciate all the input," stated Senator Flanagan.

Senator Flanagan opened the meeting with some remarks about the issues he is working on in the New York State Senate. He remarked on the enhancements to Megan's Law that were enacted at the beginning of the year, his efforts to lower the property tax burden on homeowners and the recent capping of state tax on gasoline.

Senator Flanagan then opened the floor to questions from those who joined him at the meeting. Issues that were remarked on were the impact of the record school aid provided by New York State and the upcoming expansion and revitalization of the Route 347 corridor.

Any resident who was unable to join Senator Flanagan at one of his town hall meetings may contact Senator Flanagan in his district office at 631-361-2154 or visit his web site at www.senatorflanagan.com for more information about important issues.
