State Senator José M. Serrano Celebrates Grand Opening Of District Office
(New York)- New York State Senator José M. Serrano (D)-28th Senate District, will celebrate the grand opening of his district office in East Harlem on Friday, January 6th at 1:00 p.m. The grand opening will occur after East Harlem’s Annual Three Kings’ Day festivities. Senator Serrano will be joined by elected officials, as well as district and community leaders, for a ribbon cutting ceremony and complimentary refreshments. "I am so thrilled to be opening my district office in East Harlem, home to one of the richest cultural and ethnic centers in this city. East Harlem has a long and proud history, both politically and culturally, and I am so proud to be a part of it," said the senator. The new District Office is conveniently located at 157 East 104th Street, just off of Lexington Avenue and is accessible via the 6 line.
Senator Serrano promised to keep the District Office in East Harlem while campaigning in 2004. This grand opening will mark the fulfillment of that campaign promise. "This office is in a central location within the 28th Senate District. I, along with my staff, look forward to many years of faithfully serving my community as they come into this office looking for assistance," said Senator Serrano.
The senator feels that the location allows him to further improve upon his outreach efforts to his constituency. The 28th Senate District encompasses parts of the South Bronx, East Harlem, Roosevelt Island and Yorkville.
