Bathroom Facilities Available Again In Marine Park
Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today is announcing that through his arrangements, working with Brooklyn Parks Commissioner Jules Spiegel and Parks Manager Fred Wilkens, eight portable bathrooms were temporarily installed in Marine Park this afternoon adjacent to the Marine Park comfort station which was shut down approximately two weeks ago when the threat of a collapsing ceiling forced the closure.
The portable bathrooms are temporary until the portable comfort station, which includes sinks, is brought to Marine Park, for the duration of the construction of a new park house which will include a brand new senior center and brand new public park bathrooms.
Senator Golden stated, "I want to thank that Brooklyn Parks Department Commissioner Jules Spiegel and District 15 Parks Manager Fred Wilkens for their working with me to insure that this inconvenience which has existed for two weeks has been removed. We now again have bathroom facilities for all who use the park for exercise and recreation. The families of the neighborhood were at a great loss without bathroom facilities, but now, as the summer months begin, that problem has been erased."
Senator Golden was sparked to request and work towards the placement of these portable bathrooms after receiving numerous complaints of public urination.
