Golden Attends 2006 Roll Of Honor Ceremony At New York State Police Officers Memorial

Albany- State Senator Maritn J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) this week attended the 2006 Roll of Honor Remembrance Ceremony at the New York State Police Officers Memorial in Albany. Senator Golden joined Governor George Pataki, Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Chauncey Parker, the New York State Director of Criminal Justice. The ceremony took place on May 9, 2006, "Police Memorial Day" as declared by Governor George Pataki.

In declaring Police Memorial Day, the Senate adopted a resolution, co-sponsored by Senator Marty Golden that stated, "This Legislative Body honors and remembers those who have made the supreme sacrifice in the performance of their duty, offers comfort to surviving family members and fellow officers, and recognizes the dedicated performance of duty by over 70,000 members of the law enforcement agencies of New York State which permits us to live and work in freedom and safety..."

Senator Marty Golden is a former New York City Police Officer. He was forced to retire in 1983 after being injured.
