Golden To Host Transportation Town Hall
Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, 22nd District) will be hosting a town hall meeting on transportation issues next week, Monday, November 13, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the John Hughes Council of the Knights of Columbus located at 1305-86th Street in Brooklyn.
The guest speakers at the meeting will be: Melissa Farley, Government Relations of the New York City Transit Authority, Brooklyn Borough Commissioner Joseph Palmieri of the New York City Department of Transportation and Chair/Commissioner Matthew Daus of the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission.
Senator Marty Golden will discussing, along with the agency officials, bus service, train service, street lights, road conditions and taxi service. Senator Golden is inviting local residents and commuters to attend this meeting to discuss areas of concern. Senator Golden will also be announcing an allocation of funds towards the 86th Street subway station rehabilitation project.
Senator Marty Golden stated, "This is a community with very good transportation services. However, we need to regularly address concerns related to matters of maintenance, scheduling, and other aspects that could help us improve our service on our buses, our trains and our roadways. I am pleased to be welcoming top officials from the New York City Transit Authority, the New York City Department of Transportation and the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission. Let’s make our concerns heard and let’s see that they are addressed to meet our needs and improve our quality of life."
