Golden Seeks Street Rehabilitation To Ensure Safety Of Motorists And Pedestrians

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District) today is announcing that he has submitted the following report of streets that require repaving, as well as potholes and sinkholes, to the Transportation Department to maintain the integrity of local streets.

Senator Marty Golden stated, "Maintaining the integrity of our infrastructure is very important and I appreciate hearing from the community and their taking the time to bring to my attention areas that need to be priorities of the Department of Transportation. Working with the Department of Transportation, we will remedy the dangerous conditions that exist to ensure the safety of all residents, motorists and pedestrians."

1) Third Avenue from 60th Street to 17th Street (repaving)
2) West Street between Shore Parkway and Avenue Z
3) Sink Hole-Outside of 6226 New Utrecht Avenue
4) Potholes-87th Street between 4th and 5th Avenue near Century 21
5) Potholes-90th Street between Battery Avenue and Dahlgren Place
6) Pothole-77th Street between Narrows Avenue and Colonial Road-closer to Narrows
7) Colonial Road between 81st Street and 82nd Street (resurfacing)
8) 4th Avenue between 80th Street to 82nd Street (resurfacing)
9) 87th Street between 3rd Avenue and Ridge Boulevard (resurfacing)
10) Potholes-Avenue V between East 15th Street and East 16th Street-under overpass
11) Shore Boulevard in Manhattan Beach (repaving)
12) Pothole- 80th Street between 4th and 5th Avenue
13) Pothole-Lake Place between West 6th Street and West 7th Street
14) Ocean Parkway to Coney Island Avenue, along Belt Parkway, (repaving)
15) Coney Island Avenue-Sheepshead Bay Road on Shore Parkway (resurfacing)
16) 4th Avenue from 100th Street to the Belt Parkway (repaving)
17) 65th Street and 5th Avenue (resurfacing)
18) Pothole-outside of 7723-3rd Avenue
19) Pothole on 80th Street off the corner of 4th Avenue
20) Pothole-95th Street between 3rd Avenue and Ridge Boulevard (closer to Ridge)

Senator Marty Golden has also contacted Brooklyn Department of Transportation Commissioner Joseph Palmieri in regards to 2nd Avenue from 39th Street and 41st Street in Brooklyn.

Golden noted in his letter to Palmieri that the stretch of Brooklyn roadway is frequented by shoppers going to COSTCO located on 39th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue, as well as commuters exiting the Gowanus Expressway/Brooklyn Queens Expressway. Golden has sought the Transportation Department’s attention to the potholes on this street as well as has brought to the attention of D.O.T. the fact that the tracks from the trolley cars that used to ride along 2nd Avenue are rising from the pavement.
