Golden Town Hall Meeting To Focus On Education
Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C, Brooklyn), a member of the State Senate Committee on Education, is today announcing that he will be hosting an Education Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Public School 205 at 6701 20th Avenue in Brooklyn.
Senator Marty Golden will be joined by Region 7 Instructional Superintendent Dorita Gibson and Region 7 Deputy Superintendent Dr. Laura Feijoo . Topics to be discussed among the administration include Gifted and Talented Programs in Region 7, District 20 and District 21, zoning and student placement, variances, new schools developed within District 20 and District 21 and school construction and school expansion projects. A question and answer session will be part of the program.
Senator Marty Golden will be discussing the new state $330 child care tax credit, school construction projects, school safety issues, specialized programs, and other issues.
Senator Golden stated, "We have had a successful year in addressing the needs of school children and families here in our community and in New York. We have adopted a child care tax credit in New York and we are ready to build new schools, add new classroom, and spend a record level of funding on new schools so our children have the very best opportunities to learn and to grow. I encourage all parents to attend to address their concerns and to hear of the future plans for District 20 and District 21 within Region 7."
