Senator Golden And Santa Claus To Light Up Community With Christmas Trees
Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) will be hosting a series of Christmas Tree Lighting ceremonies and holiday celebrations throughout the community in preparation for the upcoming Christmas and holiday season and is inviting all community residents to participate and to get into the spirit.
Each celebration will feature traditional carolers, hot cocoa, candy canes and a special visit from Santa Claus. Local school children have been invited to perform at each event. Senator Golden is also encouraging local residents who attend to bring an unwrapped toy which will be collected for the Toys for Tots campaign. The Toys for Tots Foundation provides United States Marines the opportunity to bring the joy of Christmas to needy children and accomplish passive mentioning by serving as positive role models.

*Friday, December 1, 2006 at 6:00 p.m.
McKinley Park (75th Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway)
*Monday, December 4, 2006 at 5:30 p.m.
Lady Moody Square Park (Avenue U and Van Sicklen Street)
*Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 6:00 p.m.
Fort Hamilton Memorial Triangle (95th Street and 4th Avenue)
Senator Golden stated, "Let’s come together as a community in the spirit of Christmas and the holidays and celebrate. Let’s sing our favorite carols, let’s greet Santa Claus on his special visit from the North Pole, and let’s collect toys for the Toys for Tots campaign. What better way to get in the spirit then to gather together, to rejoice, and to give a gift to help the needy."
