
Senator Golden Announces Victory Memorial Hospital To Accept Blood Donations In Name Of Matthew Long
Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District) today is announcing that he has made arrangements with Victory Memorial Hospital to accept blood donations in the name of Firefighter Matthew Long, a local resident, who was injured while biking to work during the transit strike.
Victory Memorial Hospital, located at 699-92nd Street, will be accepting blood donations in his name beginning on Monday, January 9, 2006, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. An appointment is necessary and can be made by calling (718) 567-1224. Donors must be age 18 or older.
Senator Marty Golden, a personal friend of Matthew Long and the Long Family, stated, "I encourage this community to come together and to make a donation of blood in the name of Matthew Long. Matthew Long is not only a community giant, but he is a hero throughout the City of New York. For one of New York’s Bravest, let’s show our support, and may we never forget our emergency services workers who each day make sacrifices for our well-being."
