Senator Marty Golden Hosts 2006 Teacher Of Year Awards Recognition Ceremony
Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, 22nd District) yesterday hosted his "2006 Teacher of the Year" awards ceremony. The ceremony recognized outstanding educators from throughout the community. The awards ceremony was held at Bay Ridge Manor. Senator Marty Golden received nominations from schools in District 20, District 21, and District 22. State Senator Marty Golden is a member of the Senate Education Committee.
In his remarks to the teachers, Senator Marty Golden stated, "It is each and every one of you that has laid the groundwork for a successful future for each student. It is a solid and strong education that chartes the course of a community."
Golden continued, "As a member of the State Senate Education Committee, I will continue to work towards obtaining the highest possible dollar figure for New York City schools so that we can construct new schools to alleviate overcrowding, make the necessary repairs so that our children have the right environment to learn, and increase access to technology so our
children have every opportunity available to them."
