Senator Marty Golden Hosts Christmas And New Year's Celebration
Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) today is announcing that he will be hosting a joint community Christmas and New Year celebration, in conjunction with Chinese Radio NY, at New Utrecht High School, located at 1601-80th Street, on Sunday, December 17, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The event and program will feature a seasonal celebration including a chorus performance, as well as solo performances by professional singers and dancers, raffles and gifts. Santa Claus will be making a special visit from the North Pole to see the students and families. The Chinese American Partnership will also be hosting a voter registration drive at the event.
Senator Marty Golden stated, "The joy of Christmas, the Christmas spirit and the blessings of Christmas provide a chance for all people to gather together, to remember, to reflect and to celebrate. At this very important and special time of year, we thank all those who have made a difference in the lives of so many, we remember, salute and thank our brave men and women of the military, of law enforcement and others, and we welcome the coming year with much hope and anticipation."
Senator Golden is encouraging all those who attend to bring an unwrapped toy to support his ongoing "Toys for Tots" collection drive. "Please bring a gift to give to the help the needy, the families of the military and the children who are in the hospital. Let’s spread joy and cheer. Let’s bring smiles to the faces of as many children as possible."
