Anyone can enroll as a donor. Medical history and age do not automatically prevent an individual from donating - the suitability of a donor is not determined until the potential donor’s time of death.

“There are approximately 300 new transplant candidates added to waiting lists every month. Shortages continue and individuals are left with no alternatives other than waiting and hoping for a match. By designating April as organ donation month, everyone has an opportunity to consider becoming a donor. It is a useful reminder of the ever increasing need for people to donate their organs or tissue to help save a life,” Senator Dilan concluded.
