Nozzolio Delivers $487,500 For Mercy Health And Rehabilitation Center In Auburn
Auburn— New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) today delivered $487,500 in state funding to Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center in Auburn. The funding was provided under Phase II of the State’s Healthcare Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers (HEAL NY) program.
“It is important that New York State continue to make wise investments to strengthen our nursing homes and ensure the viability of health care services in Cayuga County,” said Senator Nozzolio. “The services provided by Mercy Health and Rehab Center are vital for the health care needs of the community and I am proud to have advocated to the Governor and worked to secure this critical funding for the facility.”
Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center is a voluntary, non-profit nursing facility that provides long and short term care. Their primary goal is to meet the health care needs of the community and enhance the quality of life for those who receive their services.
Stephen Ash, Administrator at Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center said, “We at Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center would like to take this opportunity to thank Senator Nozzolio for his efforts on our behalf in securing $487,500 in HEAL NY grant funding. These monies help to ensure a bright future for Mercy and will be used for a variety of purposes including purchasing equipment and the enhancement and expansion of our Adult Medical Day Program space and adjoining areas.”
HEAL NY funding is awarded to hospitals and nursing homes in New York State that have demonstrated a commitment to investing in the restructuring and reconfiguration of their facilities to further improve the delivery of quality care to patients. The awards are for capital projects aimed at reconfiguring inpatient space in favor of improved hospital-based ambulatory and outpatient care and less restrictive long-term care services, such as adult day health care and assisted living.
“Nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our citizens and families. By investing state resources into strengthening the operations at Mercy Health and Rehab Center, we will help to ensure that it continues to provide the highest quality services possible,” concluded Senator Nozzolio.
