Senator Nozzolio Secures $25,000 To Assist The Beverly Animal Shelter

Michael F. Nozzolio

Waterloo– New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) today announced that he has secured $25,000 in state funding to support the continued operation of the Beverly Animal Shelter in Seneca County. The announcement was made at the American Legion in Seneca Falls at a public meeting to discuss the future of the shelter.

“The Beverly Animal Shelter provides an invaluable service for both the animals and animal lovers in Seneca County,” said Senator Nozzolio. “It would be a great shame if the shelter was unable to keep providing their care and adoption services because of mounting debt. It was a pleasure to secure this state funding to assist the Beverly Animal Shelter and supplement the private funds that are necessary for the successful operation of the facility.”

The Beverly Animal Shelter is a privately owned, non-profit business and relies on private donations and volunteers from the community. The shelter works to find homes for cats and dogs, as well as birds and reptiles, and small animals such as rabbits and hamsters. The shelter was opened in 1958 by the late Gladys Schultz and is located next to the Silver Creek Golf Course on River Road in the Village of Waterloo. Donations can be sent to Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 East River Road, Waterloo, NY 13165.

“This critical state funding will allow the Beverly Animal shelter to continue their day-to-day operations and I am extremely pleased to support their great work,” concluded Nozzolio.
