Senator Nozzolio Tours New Xerox Toner Plant In Webster
Webster-Senator Mike Nozzolio recently met with Anne Mulcahy, President and CEO of Xerox, at the company's new multi-million dollar Toner Plant in Webster, NY. Senator Nozzolio was instrumental in securing state resourcesfor the project in Webster, the first plant expansion by Xerox in the region in nearly two decades. The project is expected to lead to the creation of 40 new full-time jobs and the retention of 50.
“I am proud to have secured$250,000 in state fundingto make this project a reality and create jobs in the Town of Webster,” said Senator Nozzolio. “The new EA Toner Plant further solidifies the presence of Xerox in Webster and is important to the strengthening of our regional economy.”
Xerox, founded in 1906 in Rochester, NY as The Haloid Company, and which became Xerox Corporation in 1961, provides document solutions, services, and systems (digital presses, copiers, faxes, printers, scanners, etc.) to the financial services, graphic arts, health care, government, and industrial sectors around the globe. The new plant will produce emulsion aggregate (EA) toner, which represents a breakthrough in toner technology. EA toner is chemically grown from the molecular level to precise shapes and sizes, eliminating the grinding and selection process required to make traditional toner. It requires less energy to manufacture and generates less waste.
"Xerox, which was founded in Rochester nearly 100 years ago, maintains strong roots in the community and I thank them for their commitment and investment,” concluded Nozzolio.
