NYS Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz To Hold Press Conference To Commence The Great Walk In Solidarity With Immigrants

On Saturday, April 1st, 2006 at 11:00am, New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz will hold a press conference on the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge with the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization, Radio Vision Cristiana Inc., C.O.N.L.I.C.O. Confraternity of Religious Leaders of New York, and other leaders to kickoff the Great Walk in Solidarity with Immigrants.

Marchers will gather on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 11am at Borough Hall in Brooklyn and proceed across the Brooklyn Bridge to 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan.

The event will oppose proposed legislation by US Congress, HR4437 which will criminalize anyone who helps undocumented immigrants. Religious workers, priests, pastors, rabbis, doctors, nurses, teachers, and others who assist any undocumented immigrant will be considered criminals under this proposed legislation.

The April 1st Press Conference will be held at 11:00 AM, at the Brooklyn side entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge.
