Senator Saland And Senator Leibell Announce $331,075 In New York State Archives Grants For Dutchess County

Senators Steve Saland (R,C Poughkeepsie) and Senator Vincent Leibell (R,C Patterson) today announced that $331,075 in New York State Archives Grants have been awarded to local governments and community organizations in Dutchess County.

These grants are offered by the New York State Archives to support the management of records. Grants may be used to improve records management or to preserve historical documents. Documentary Heritage Program Grants are awarded to community organizations, while Local Government Records Grants are awarded to local municipalities.

The grants for Dutchess County are as follows:

Town of Clinton, Active Records $10,494

Town of Pawling, Inventory and Planning $3,998

Town of Poughkeepsie, Active Records $49,391

Town of Poughkeepsie, Active Records $44,079

Town of Fishkill, Active Records $21,810

Town of Pawling, Inventory and Planning $3,390

Village of Wappingers Falls, Active Records $38,007

Wappingers Central School District, Inactive Records $25,879

"This is great news for our local governments and community organizations in Dutchess County," said Senator Saland. "The New York Archive Grants are an important way to ensure that our state's diverse history is preserved and that local governments can improve records to better serve the public."

The New York State Archives is awarding approximately $9.65 million in grants to hundreds of local governments and community organizations across the state.
