Senator Steve Saland (R,C Poughkeepsie) today joined Kinderhok Fire Chief Ray Lauster, Kinderhook Village Deputy Mayor Rich Phillips and members of the Kinderhook Fire Company to announce $13,000 in funding for the Village of Kinderhook Fire Department. The money will be used to purchase a thermal imaging camera, carbon air bottles for SCBA units and PASS monitoring alert units for SCBA users.
"I would like to thank Senator Saland for his continued continued support of volunteer fire companies and the personnel who proudly serve their communities," said Chief Lauster. "Our fire department will be using the allocated funds to purchase new thermal imaging camera, carbon air bottles for SCBA units and PASS monitoring alert units for SCBA users. These items will be tremendous additions to our fire company and will enable us to perform our volunteer fire services for our community in a more effective, safer manner."
"I am pleased that this funding will allow the department to purchase a new thermal imaging camera and additional equipment," said Senator Saland. "Such technology is a tremendous help as firefighters work to locate fire victims in rooms with poor visibility. I will continue to work on behalf of department in my district to secure the funding they need for state-of-the-art equipment."
