Thomas P. Morahan

Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno has selected Senator Thomas P. Morahan (R-C, New City) to serve as Chairman of the Senate Budget Sub-Committee on Mental Hygiene and to serve on the Education Sub-Committee.

"As Chair of the Senate’s Mental Hygiene Budget Sub-Committee, Senator Morahan will lead the Senate’s review of the Governor’s proposed budget as is relates to all mental health programs," Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno said. "Senator Morahan, and his colleagues on the Sub-Committee, make recommendations to the rest of the Senate Majority for changes in mental health funding and programs that we will carry into the budget negotiations. The state’s mental health programs are critically important and I thank Senator Morahan for his leadership in this area. I have also appointed Senator Morahan to the Education Budget Sub-Committee to give his input on how we can improve our investment in schools, strengthen accountability in education and provide relief to property taxpayers."
