Senator Dale M. Volker Secures $50,000 For The Iroquois Central School District
(Albany, NY) Senator Dale M. Volker (R-I-C, Depew) today announced that he has secured $50,000 for the installation of a traffic light located at Girdle Road at the school’s main campus. This $50,000 state grant was secured as part of the adopted 2006-2007 state budget.
"Working with Iroquois Central School District Superintendent Neil Rochelle, we together felt that there was a critical need for an installation of a traffic light at the entrance of the school," said Senator Dale M. Volker. "The school district allows the athletic field parking lot for overflow student parking, and crossing Girdle Road to the main campus has resulted in several close calls were a student could have been seriously injured. The safety of our young people as they go to school is a top priority and I am pleased to have been of assistance to the Iroquois Central School District in securing this $50,000 state grant."
