Senator Andrew Lanza Appointed Chairman Of The Senate Committee On Ethics
Senator Andrew Lanza (R - Staten Island) was today appointed as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics. This key appointment will allow the Senator to take the lead in advancing important reform legislation in the Senate. Senator Lanza requested to head this committee in order to begin the important task of making government work better for the people.
Senator Lanza said "This important committee assignment will give me a unique opportunity to spearhead reform initiatives and make government more transparent, accountable and responsive to the needs of Staten Islanders and all of the people of New York State."
In addition to chairing the Ethics Committee, Senator Lanza secured a position on the powerful Senate Transportation Committee which will allow him to fight to address transportation and traffic problems affecting the people of Staten Island. Senator Lanza was also made a member of the influential Codes Committee which deals with the State's criminal laws. This will allow the former prosecutor to continue his fight to keep our neighborhoods safe and sex offenders away from our children and off our streets.
