Senator Andrew Lanza Named Member Of The Senate Mental Health Committee
Senator Andrew Lanza (R - Staten Island) was today named a member of the Senate Committee on Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.
"Being appointed a member of the Senate Committee on Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities will allow me to work on legislation and funding issues to assist those most in need," Senator Andrew Lanza said. "I am committed to helping children develop and reach their full potential, and promoting health and well-being among people of all ages with disabilities. This appointment will allow me to better champion the cause to improve the lives of those with developmental disabilities."
The Senate Mental Health Committee promotes high standards in the delivery of mental health services and ensures that the interests of those with mental health disabilities are upheld. The committee works closely with groups who provide leadership and direction to help ensure that these individuals have the opportunity to lead more independent, productive and normal lives.
Senator Lanza is Chairman of the Senate Ethics Committee and is a standing member of the Senate’s Aging, Cities, Codes, Education, Judiciary and Transportation Committees.
