Staten Island – On Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 11 am to 7 pm State Senator Andrew J. Lanza (R-24th District) will be hosting an "Open House" at his district office located at 3845 Richmond Avenue, Eltingville, for all Staten Island residents. Senator Lanza and his staff will be available to help constituents with any problems, questions or concerns about the community. The agencies listed above will also be in attendance.
The following special services will be offered during the open house: Representatives from the Department of Environmental Protection will be on hand to help answer questions and settle water bill problems; The Department of Finance will have representatives available to help with real estate tax issues and rebate problems; The MTA will have representatives available to give senior citizen reduced-fare MetroCards from 11am – 5pm; Health Plus will be available to sign up children and families for affordable health insurance; The SI Free Lighting Corporation will be signing up homeowners for free compact fluorescent light bulbs in their home. There will also be information and representatives from most of the other agencies in attendance.
"This is a great opportunity for residents to interact with city and state agencies, as well as private organizations, and learn what they have to offer", Lanza said. "The good news is that if you have a problem with your water bill or a tax issue, you will be able to come to the open house and speak directly with a representative from the appropriate agency. My trained staff and I will also be available to speak with anyone who has a question or concern."
All residents are urged to attend. Lanza says that commuters should take advantage of this opportunity as well, as his office will be open on Thursday until 7pm. The office is conveniently located next to the Eltingville train station on Richmond Avenue. In addition, the major bus lines, such as the express bus and local buses make stops just outside of the office.
