Senator Thompson Proclaims March 2007 As “women’s History Month”

ALBANY- Senator Antoine M. Thompson has sponsored a resolution to acknowledge and celebrate women of historic significance, who add inspiration and understanding to the diversity and value of this great Empire State. According to Senator Thompson, "New York State has been home to extraordinary women who have led our state and our nation towards a better future and it is imperative that we officially recognize the accomplishments of these women."

Senator Antoine M. Thompson will be proposed a resolution for Governor Spitzer on Tuesday, March 6th to proclaim March 2007 as "Women’s History Month" in the State of New York and to recognize March 8th as International Women’s Day.

The Senator will also be sponsoring a reception on March 31st at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site, located at 641 Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, to honor women in New York State and Western New York who have made recent significant contributions to society.
