Fuschillo And Mcdonough Attend Career Day At Newbridge Road Elementary School
Second grade students at Newbridge Road Elementary School in North Bellmore got to learn what it is like to be a state legislator when Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Assemblyman David G. McDonough visited them as part of the school’s "career day."
Senator Fuschillo and Assemblyman McDonough explained to the students how state government works and how ideas are turned into laws. To illustrate the legislative process, the class participated in a mock legislative session, where they were given an idea and had to "vote" whether it should be turned into a law.
Afterwards, the students had the opportunity to ask questions and share their ideas for new laws with Senator Fuschillo and Assemblyman McDonough.
"The students showed a lot of enthusiasm particpating in the process and came up with some great ideas for new laws," said Senator Fuschillo. "I really enjoyed my visit with them."
