Fuschillo, Mckevitt, And Mcdonough Congratulate Merrick Boy Scout On Completing Eagle Scout Project
State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District), Assemblyman Thomas McKevitt (17th Assembly District), and Assemblyman David G. McDonough (19th Assembly District) recently congratulated Eagle Scout candidate Matthew Callman of Merrick on completing his Eagle Scout project.
Matthew, a sophomore at Calhoun High School, is currently a Life Scout and Senior Patrol Leader in Boy Scout Troop 214.
For his Eagle Scout project, Matthew provided the Merrick community with information about emergency preparedness. He set up a booth at the Merrick Street Fair and distributed a wide variety of information about how families could prepare themselves for a hurricane or other emergency situations. Scouts from Troop 214 helped Matthew in giving out the information to hundreds of local residents.
"By informing the members of his community how to prepare in case of an emergency, Matthew performed a valuable and necessary public service. I thank him for his efforts and look forward to congratulating him again once he achieves the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout," said Senator Fuschillo.
