Senator Fuschillo Honors Cultural Arts Contest Winners From Dinkelmeyer Elementary School

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently visited Dinkelmeyer Elementary School in North Bellmore to congratulate second graders Kristen Murphy and Rebecca Spear on their achievements in the Reflections cultural arts program.

The two Dinkelmeyer students were each chosen as winners in the program. Kristen was chosen as a New York State PTA winner in the Dance Choreography category. Rebecca was selected as a Nassau County PTA winner in the visual arts category.

Reflections is a annual program started by the National PTA in 1969 which gives students the opportunity to express themselves through their own individual work in the areas of literature, visual arts, photography, musical composition, dance choreography and film/video production. The program is open to children in preschool through 12th grade.

"Being chosen as a winner from the many entries from across Nassau County and New York State is quite an accomplishment, and it goes to show just how talented Kristen and Rebecca are," said Senator Fuschillo. "This is a great achievement of which these two young ladies and their families should be very proud."
