Senator Fuschillo Secures State Funding To Provide Services To Victims Of Domestic Violence
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) announced today that he secured a total of $45,000 in state funding for counseling and advocacy programs for victims of domestic violence. The programs, run by the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, help mitigate the effects of domestic violence, reduce the risk of future abuse, and increase safety for victims and their families.
"Giving domestic violence victims a safe place to turn in a time of crisis is of critical importance. The counseling and support programs offered by the Coalition ensure that victims can obtain professional help anytime they need it. I am pleased to help the Coalition provide these invaluable services to our residents," said Senator Fuschillo.
Sandra Oliva, the Coalition’s Executive Director, said, "We are extremely grateful that Senator Fuschillo was able to secure this important funding for our organization. His continued support and commitment will go a long way towards providing critical services to Nassau’s victims of domestic violence and their children."
