Fitness Booth At Cincinnatus Library

James L. Seward

The Kellogg Free Library in Cincinnatus is hosting a special fitness kiosk courtesy of Senator James L. Seward.

The presentation at the libary urges young people to take the New York State Senate's Youth Fitness Challenge.

"The senate's youth fitness campaign is designed to encourage young children to get and stay fit by rewarding them for doing what they enjoy , like sports or swimming," Seward said. "Overweight children are at greater risk for developing health problems, and the summer is a good time to get in some exercise, whether it's running, swimming, throwing the Frisbee or even walking the dog."

Individual fitness charts to help track one's progress are available at the kiosk. Students who take the challenge, complete their charts and return them to Sen. Seward receive senate certificates honoring their achievements.

The library is at 5681 Telephone Road, Cincinnatus. August hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:00 to 8:00 pm; Wednesdays and Fridays, 1:00 to 5:00 pm; and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The fitness kiosk will be at the library from August 14 to 31.
