Oneonta Man Named To State Panel

James L. Seward


    O'Brien is executive director of the Watershed Agricultural Council of the New York City Watershed, Inc. He has had extensive experience in natural resource conservation and management, with a focus on watershed and landscape issues. O'Brien holds a degree in landscape architecture and regional planning from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
 
    "Thomas O'Brien brings great experience and knowledge to the environmental board," Seward said. "I commend the governor on his nomination and wish Mr. O'Brien well as he serves the state."

    The board advises the commissioner of the Department of Environmental Conservation and ensures cooperation and coordination with other state agencies on environmental issues.
The term expires in 2014.

    The position carries no compensation.
