Bonacic Announces Additional State Aid For Libraries
State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C - Mount Hope) announced today he has secured $97,500 in additional State funding that will be shared by libraries in the 42nd State Senate District. The aid can be used by the libraries to make capital improvements or purchase equipment. Each library will receive $2,500.
"Libraries are constantly expanding their mission. Some offer tutoring services, many offer literacy programs and children's programming. I am pleased to continue to assist our libraries," stated Senator Bonacic.
Senator Bonacic has worked successfully to obtain over $2 million in State funding for the libraries in his District. The following libraries will each receive funding:
Ulster County: Hurley, Ulster, Elting (New Paltz), Phoenicia, Morton Memorial (Pine Hill), Rosendale, Saugerties, Stone Ridge, West Hurley, Olive, Woodstock, Cragsmoor, Ellenville, Gardiner, and Wallkill Public Library in Shawangunk.
Orange County: Middletown Thrall, Port Jervis.
Sullivan County: Bloomingburg, Sunshine Hall (Eldred), Daniel Pierce (Grahamsville), Liberty, Livingston Manor, Ethelbert Crawford (Monticello), Roscoe, and Fallsburg, as well as the Delaware, Tusten-Cochecton, and Jeffersonville Branches of the Western Sullivan Public Library ($2,500 each branch).
"I will continue to support library services because they are an important resource for the families of our region," concluded Senator Bonacic.
