Senator Flanagan Hosts Town Hall Meeting In East Setauket
Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) recently hosted a Town Hall meeting in East Setauket. The meeting at the Setauket Elementary School allowed Senator Flanagan to discuss important issues with members of the surrounding community.
"Listening to the thoughts of the people who attended allows me to hear what is on their minds. I thank everyone who attended this important meeting and truly appreciate their input," stated Senator Flanagan.
Senator Flanagan opened the meeting with some remarks about the recently enacted New York State budget and other issues he is working on in the New York State Senate. He remarked on important restorations made by the State Senate including increased school aid to Long Island districts, enhanced property tax relief, and the maintenance of critical health care funding.
Senator Flanagan then opened the floor to questions from those who were in attendance. Questions ranged in topic and covered state and local issues including mental health care and Senator Flanagan’s role in the state government.
