Senator Flanagan Meets With Commack Fourth Grader To Help With Class Project
Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) recently met with Commack fourth grader Sean Briody to assist the student with a school report about what he wants to be when he gets older. Since Sean has already decided he would like to be the President of the United States, his parents arranged for him to speak to Senator Flanagan as part of his research for Mr. Robert Ciani’s class at Mandracchia-Sawmill Intermediate School (MSIS).
During their meeting, Senator Flanagan spoke with Sean about the role of government in people’s lives and about his role in that process. They also discussed how public service provides those in office with an opportunity to give something back to their community and to help their neighbors.
"I was extremely impressed with Sean’s knowledge of government and I enjoyed our talk immensely. The fact that he shows interest in having a career in public service so early in life is unique and should be commended. I have no doubt that Sean will have a bright future in whatever he chooses to do and I wish him all the best," said Senator Flanagan.
