Linkage House Receives Official Senate Proclamation
Linkage House celebrated its 10th Anniversary on Thursday, October 25. On behalf of the Senator, Community Relations Associate presented a Senate Proclamation to the staff and residents for their exceptional service and dedication to the community.
Linkage House, which opened in 1997, was the shared vision of four organizations serving East Harlem: Union Settlement Association, Community Association of the East Harlem Triangle, Greater Emmanuel Baptist Church, and The Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Constructed by a federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) capital advance under the Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly program, Linkage House is home to a diverse and active group of seniors.
Linkage House services include a full-time social work services coordinator, on-site physical exercise room, health education and health screening programs, computer lab and training, as well as a host of leisure activities and cultural programs.
